Description:
The Thunderbird Marching Band is hiring an Announcer to travel with the band and announce at every scheduled home event throughout the fall 2026 season.
Position Available
-Announcer (1 position)
Responsibilities:
- Travel with the band to all scheduled events, including away games/exhibitions, not including parades
- Announce live at every game and exhibition on the schedule below
- Deliver energetic, clear, and engaging announcements that hype the crowd and represent the band program well
- Coordinate with band staff ahead of each event on script content, drill/feature call-outs, and timing
- Represent the Thunderbird Marching Band and "The Sound of Southern Utah" Athletic Bands professionally at all times, on and off the field

- Sept 5 Saturday vs. Weber State — Cedar City 6:00 PM HOME / Band Day
- Sept 7 Monday Parowan Labor Day Parade 10:00 AM
- Sept 19 Saturday NEBO Tournament of Bands 9:00 PM Exhibition
- Sept 26 Saturday vs. Idaho State — Cedar City 6:00 PM HOME
- Oct 3 Saturday @ Utah Tech 6:00 PM AWAY
- Oct 17 Saturday vs. UC Davis — Cedar City 6:00 PM HOME
- Oct 31 Saturday vs. Northern Arizona — Cedar City 1:00 PM HOME
- Nov 6 Friday UMEA State Marching Championship 10:00 PM Exhibition
- Nov 7 Saturday vs. Univ. of Northern Colorado — Cedar City 1:00 PM HOME
- Nov 21 Saturday vs. Chicago State — Cedar City 12:00 PM HOME
Qualifications:
- Strong, confident public speaking voice — must be vocal and outspoken.
- Prior experience announcing (marching band, sports, or similar live events) preferred.
- Comfortable reading scripted content and improvising crowd engagement in the moment.
- Availability to travel with the band to all events, including away games.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends per the schedule above.
